Synthesis trip to Copenhagen

In November, postdoc Sara Frank visited the Nanostructure Group at the University of Copenhagen, led by Kirsten Marie Ørnsbjerg Jensen, for hands-on training in polyoxometalate (POM) synthesis. During the visit, Sara learned to prepare a range of POM clusters including sandwich-type tungstates and large molybdenum-based “lemon” and “wheel” structures. These clusters will be central in upcoming electron microscopy studies in RESPOM.

The trip resulted in a collection of freshly synthesized samples now ready for structural exploration in the DISORDER group.

Many thanks to Rebecca Svart Silberg and Kirsten Marie Ørnsbjerg Jensen for their generous guidance and hospitality.
